Aww Sweetie--it has nothing to do with your strength. You ARE strong. Everyone reacts to pit differently, and you know, the baby's position could have had an enormous impact on the pain you felt in labor. Position is everything... And you know, some people are so sensitive to pit that they go into labor without having to have their water broken, and others have to have their membranes ruptured, which again, really increases...the sensations. I'm not trying to make light of your mom and your friend's labors; labor is always hard hard work. But really--you cannot compare yourself. Every labor is different, and what you cannot tolerate in one labor, might be totally tolerable in the next, even for the same person.

You ARE strong. And I hope you're not home reading this. Well, not on Monday morning at least.

Aimee, I am late coming to this thread, but I'm thinking of you and am fully supportive of whatever you decide. I wouldn't take the risk either and would also go medical if I were in your situation. But I know and understand how badly you want this birth to be different from Theo's. Sending vibes your way!

Just seeing this now and hope things are going well for you. Many hard decisions, but you need to do what is best for you!!

(and just in case your not on your way...what about getting a chiro to let you borrow a TENS unit - I know its great for labor pains, but, I've also read it can help start labor....I've already got mine ready to go!)

Annika I am hoping and assuming the same thing. Figured she would have posted by now if things hadn't kept moving forward...

Lots of good labor thoughts to you Aimee, I hope that you get your babe in your arms very shortly

You're making me hungry with that mac and cheese with A-1 mention! I never thought of that, but dang it sounds good... I ran out of it last night, so I guess this is as good an excuse as any to go get more sauce.
