We're pretty sick, baby is ok so far.... a little worried tho

I got slammed with a 102 fever on Thursday, and it's still hovering around 100 today. I'm feeling progressively better. DH has it also and probably has a sinus infection on top of it.

How worried should I be that Eidie will get this? She's a month old and was a month early so I am concerned about her being exposed to funk. Is nursing that good of a boost that it will protect her or what? I haven't nursed in a long time, I can't remember how to be that confident in this process.

Emily has had a really bad cold since the day before Lana was born and so far Lana hasn't caught it (despite Emily coughing on her, showering her with runny nose kisses, and all the other things that made me cringe and try not to freak out for fear Emily would think affection for her sister wasn't allowed.)

I'd be pretty confident, just climb into bed with baby and nurse as much as possible (that would be what I would do in your situation.) I hope you get better soon, it sucks being sick with a baby!

My kids never got anything until they weaned - I think nursing is the very best medicine.

My DD got a bad cold when she was 2 weeks old. It sucked because her nose was all gunked up, she hated it, I hated it, but we both survived.

I really hope your baby doesn't catch it though. I would think that if you already have it you are passing your antibodies on to her, so hopefully she'll be able to avoid it.

Gak! I didn't even know 2 week old babies could get colds!!!

This is my third kid, you'd think I'd have this down by now, but it's been six years since we've had a baby in the house.

So far she's doing just fine but we're keeping a close eye.

Judah also had his first cold within the first two weeks - exclusively breastfed and all. Thankfully breastmilk is good for not only getting antibodies and stuff in by mouth, but also is good for squirting in noses and eyes that are infected, too.

DD2 (17 days old) has the snots. Hoping it doesn't turn into anything else. I swear I'm going to hibernate all winter if we're going to get everything that comes along. DD1 (3 1/2) got it first and I tried to limit contact between them but it didn't work. And we are exclusively nursing!
