I am 10 weeks PP and still have so much extra skin on my belly and that dark line down my belly. When did yours go away? Is there some way to help it along?

Never had a dark line, but the extra skin has been there since after the birth of my second son...he is 3 3/4 years old! It didn't get much worse after baby #3, but hasn't gotten considerably better either. My husband says it has, but honestly it's still just saggy extra skin and it's disgusting. When I'm done having babies he says if I'm still unhappy I can get whatever done to me that I want to "fix" it, but he doesn't care.

I still have the extra skin and my youngest is almost 6! My doctor told me that the only way to get rid of it is to do sit-ups. Obviously, I still haven't taken her advice!

The line was gone within a year, don't really remember when. I still have a bit of a belly, though, at 21 months, but like the PP, I haven't been very good at exercising.

I remember within a few months of my 2 births, my line scrubbed off in the shower when I used a loofah one day after not using one for a long while.

As for the skin: I, too, have much more than I need, and I am 14 months PP.

BTW, I don't see how doing situps would help reduce skin. They would tone up your abs, of course. I hope that weight loss will contribute to the skin gradually reducing, it seems to be an extremely slow process. My coping method is to try to stick to pants that are large enough to tuck the extra skin inside. I used to try to wear pre-pregnancy pants, but if the waistband is tight, the skin droops over in an alarming way.

Good luck!

Can't really speak for extra skin, but my linea nigra took forever to go away. I still had it at DS's 1st birthday. It went totally away maybe around 14 months. And now it's back, so quickly. *sigh*

My extra skin hung around for awhile . . . I was pretty unhappy about it. But then it did finally go away. Not sure how long it took, though. By about 7 mos pp I felt really good again, like myself again. I don't think it took quite that long, but that was how long it took for everything to get back to tickety-boo, IYKWIM.

ETA: I had also lost all 35 pregnancy pounds and an additional 15 lbs by that point. That may have contributed to it going away.

My extra skin never went away. It has stretch marks so I think it's beyond hope, the elasticity is shot.

After DS1, I think it took about 9 mos for my linea negra to go away. I didn't get a LN at all with my 2nd pregnancy and haven't so far with #3 (and I'm 37 weeks, so probably not going to get one).

Linea negra less this time

I took a vitamin b50 once daily in addition to the regular prenatals with this pregnancy, and the linea negra was much less apparent. I did a lot of research on this and of course, confirmed that it was alright for the baby with the OB and later, the midwife.
Now that the baby is born (just a few days ago actually), I'm thinking of going on a B100 daily. The b50 really worked though. The B12 and folic acid combination is supposed to be particularly effective. Best wishes.

The skin never...the linea Nigra...mine took 9+ months to go away. DS is 14 months and I just noticed it was gone a few weeks ago.

I'm almost a year pp and still have a lot of loose skin (which my husband so lovingly refers to as my belly scrotum, lol) I don't remember when the linea negra faded, but I'm sure it's different for everybody.

14 week pp and my line is just about gone. Once I started running 3 weeks ago, the skin has diminished rapidly. Still a little saggy/wrinkly where my navel ring was, but hopefully that'll tighten up again. I take omegas too to help the skin's elasticity and moisturize.
