I don't really know what an appropriate title would be for the question I have. Anyways here is some background first before I get to my question.
With my first pregnancy, I started having contractions at exactly 37 weeks. For the first day my contractions were a regular 5-7 min apart, by the second day they had gone to being 2 min apart 30 sec long. By the end of day 4 I was only 3 cm dilated. My dr called it prodromal labour. During those four days I walked a lot! I had a doula, but unfortanetly she had never had a patient with prodromal labour (and it wasn't diagnosed as prodromal until after I had dd) The only person I knew who had similar labour was my mom, who told me that the only thing that finally made her go into actual labour was getting her water broken. So on the fourth day when I found out I was 3 cm dilated I begged to get my water broken. After that it was a quick labour. 6.5 hrs long with 1.5 hrs of that time, spent pushing.
Now fast forward to this pregnancy. I started having BH even earlier then with dd, (around 18-19 weeks) and at around 26 weeks if I walked too much, or did too much physically, the same type of contractions would start. For the past week every day I've been getting them in the evening, and sometimes all day long. I have realized that if I'm tired they are worse, and if I do any type physical activity (just emptying out the dishwasher can make them start).
The contractions are not like the BH I get, they are strong, regular, usually last at least 2 hrs, if not longer. They usually are about 2 min long and last around 30 sec. (though that can vary a bit). If I'm walking, they make me stop in my tracks as they are so strong I can't seem to physically move my body (I've tried). I have to concentrate on breathing through them. The way they differ from the contractions I had with dd is they start in my very very lower back and then radiate around my stomach. As well, I feel a lot of pressure on my cervix.
I definetly think that they are prodromal contractions again, so part of me isn't nervous, as I know mom's can have them for weeks before going into actual labour. But there is a part of me that is worried. My worry is basically this, I know that walking or physical activity seems to make them 10 times worse. So I'm wondering if I don't take it easy the next few weeks, will I basically induce myself into real labour?
