How's merino wool for covers?

I like the sleeker look and feel of merino, but I don't think I've every used merino wool for longies or a cover. Has anyone else? Does it absorb just as well as like lambswool?

We have several daytime covers made from merino wool sweaters. They seem to work really well. I have some longies knitted from Merino Wool and they are wonderful! They do pill a little more than other types of wool in our experience though.

I've used it, too. There shouldn't be any difference in performance.
