Postpartum bleeding....how long is normal for real?

Hello.

It has been 4 weeks past the birth of my son. I had a very normal birth and no substantial bleeding problems etc.

I am still bleeding. It is slow. (I can wear a pad all day and not soak it) however the bleeding is still fairly red. No major clots, doesn't smell odd and I feel fine, no fever, etc. The bleeding has been daily since the birth of my son and it is pretty much always red/pink.

What do you think odd or no? I would just call my midwife/dr etc but I am out of town.

Ok, I am doing searched etc and it looks like I am fine...wow...this can sure last a LONG time...somehow I don't recall it being that long with the last kid...

any ideas, comments very welcome!

I bled for 8 weeks, and the dr wasn't too overly concerned, but I was also in a very stressful situation and I know that doesn't help the bleeding.

I believe I was told at the birthing class I took that it's usually 4-6 weeks long, and anything up to 8 weeks is still not of any concern.

I'm 3 weeks PP and still bleeding. I notice it gets heavier when I do "too much".... like after a long walk or cleaning house. Maybe you need to get a bit more rest?
