maxi-pads and postpartum

Thread Starter
I read a thread a few weeks ago talking about how to make the pads for postpartum. i remember something about witch hazel and freezing the maxi-pads, but i can't remember specifics. anyone know what i am taking about and can give me directions or ideas? i can't find the thread.
with my first, i just used the peri-bottle and that was it, but the ideas i read on here seemed like they helped with healing a lot better.
thanks!

Because I was really badly torn I was told to put a drop of tea tree oil in my peri bottle, to help keep things clean down there, so that it wouldn't get infected and heal faster. I think it worked... as in I healed without any issues.
I also spritzed water on pads and layed them out on a cookie sheet in the freezer. I have also heard about putting witch hazel on them to help, but that was after so I didn't know that trick. The frozen maxi pads were amazing the first week or so.
