Wyatt's Halloween costume: Finished and too small. : (

I just finished Wyatt's embellished overalls for Halloween. I've been working on them on and off for about three weeks now. The overalls fit him fine when I first tried them on him and seemed to have enough growing room. I just finished them and put them on him and they DON'T FIT. :

Here it is on him. I could just  because they are waaay too tight around the middle.
He is doing this thing now that he closes his eyes every time the flash goes off. I took 10 pictures and he closed his eyes in every single one. :upset: Then he screamed because he wanted the outfit off.

BTDT it's amazing how fast they grow.

If it's mosly too tight around the waist I'd add triangular gussets to the place where it buttons on the side. Also make sure he has on a very slender diaper.

Thanks for your response! I will probably add a side panel of stripes down the sides of the legs or something, but it's disappointing to think that you are all done only to realize that it doesn't fit.

Those are adorable. My first thought would be to add side panels.
