Thank You for the Advice - re: Nuchal Cord

I wanted to thank everyone (although a bit belated, because shortly after my stuff got posted, I went into labor and had my baby) for the help with the Nuchal Cord questions I had.

I would have posted earlier, but like I said, I had my baby a few short days later, on Thursday. I woke up and had labored my entire time sleeping w/o even knowing it.

Unfortunately, we did end up with a c/s, not because of baby starting out breech, but because she turned during delivery into a transverse lay again and stuck her arm out and engaged her shoulder.

I am very comfortable and happy with my decision and the fact that we let baby pick its own birth day, and that we had a chance at trying to delivery natrually with a full breech - yes she was full breech and then turned transverse in the middle of the delivery.

I don't remember much of the c/s - I am not really sure why. I have little snippits of stuff I remember, and most of it is little funny things. Heck, I don't even remember if I heard anyone tell me it was a little girl or if I heard her cry.

Yep, transverse is on my personal list of reasons I'd feel okay about having a c-birth.

Congratulations on your little one!

Memory is an odd, individual, quirky thing. You may remember more in little bits or all at once later - you may not. Painkillers (which you have to have to have surgery) can affect different individuals in individual ways, including memory. For now, build memories of NOW. I remember feeling so amazed in the first few days of my children's lives: this is the only time I will experience their first few days, right now!

Blessings!
