I am presently 37 wks pg and planning a home waterbirth. My midwife just discovered that my blood platelet level is too low to allow her to help us birth at home. It is 71 and should be 100+.
Does anyone have experience with this or any suggestions on how to increase platelet levels? MW seems to feel that there is nothing that we can do and we should plan on a hospital birth. We are really looking forward to a peaceful waterbirth at home and are devastated at the idea that we might have to plan to go to the hospital.
Any help would be so appreciated!
