I want to make buckwheat granola and the recipe calls for sprouted then dehydrated buckwheat. Last time I tried to sprout buckwheat the water became a gooey mess. Did I do something wrong? I am using whole hulled(shelled) buckwheat groats.

Also, could I just soak the buckwheat overnight and dehydrate or is there a reason (like it will not be very digestible or toxic) that it must be sprouted?

Thanks,
Jen
