disappointing article in magazine

apparently epregnancy has an actual printed magazine as well as being a website, and the current issue has "circumcision: to cut or not to cut" as one of their coverlines.
so of course i HAD to read it, right? : why do i do this to myself?
anyway, the article outlined a VERY brief history of circ, said that there were tons of people advocating for both sides, said that there appeared to be some benefits to it but that it was really just a personal decision up to the parents.
it went on to say that most boys would derive no benefit from it, but neither would they be harmed by it.
oh, and it framed the falling circ rates as "MOST american boys are being circed -- 60% nationwide."
and then it said that most anti-circ people were mostly concerned about the pain factor.
which pissed me off, because while i am angry at newborns being hurt, i'm more concerned with healthy functioning tissue being amputated -- the whole "it isn't your penis" argument, KWIM?
and it finished by detailing (not really, just listing) the different methods of circ and how to care for a freshly cut penis. no mention of how to care for an intact penis. no mention of the fact that the foreskin is tightly attached and has to be ripped off. no mention of the current lawsuits against circers.
bah. i know it's a lot to expect of a fluffy magazine, but you'd think they would try to present both sides.
in case you're interested, it's not at the website yet. i guess they run an issue behind like mothering does so you have to buy the current issue. so no point in visiting the site.
