Has anyone painted silk with regular fabric paints?I want to use a leaf as a stamp but I'm not sure it would work on silk.Any thoughts?

It will work but will leave(no pun intended) a "hand" on the fabric. This means that the paint will leave an added texture to the silk. One way to mitigate this is to water down the paint a little bit. This will allow the paint to penetrate the silk fiber alittle bit more and leave less of a hand.

After it dries you can toss it in the dryer to heat set the paint or iron it using another piece of cloth between the iron and the silk.

I forge what it's called but there is a gell that you can add dye to so that you can paint and stmp with it like paint. Your local art supply store might know what I'm talking about.
