Good luck Julia! ELVs coming your way! :

I hope the midwife's assistant is there already and things are progressing smoothly. Can't wait to see pics of you and Oliver!

Natalia & Emily thanks for the well wishes. I'll be over on the mamas thread soon!

No, I didn't try the Lycine because my Mum gave me something that she thought might work and it really didn't. I will write it down for next time though. I'm past the bad stage - now I just have to deal with the scabbing and dryness which is annoying but at least it means it is healing. It's really big too - I should take a picture of it but who are we kidding. I'm at 20 weeks now and I haven't taken one belly picture so I'm certainly not going to take a picture of something gross!

Julia!! :

So, i'm now in week 27--does that officially put me in the 3rd trimester?! Babe has woken me up in the morning kicking the last 2 days. Kicks are definately getting stronger and much more noticeable!!

Melanie - Glad to hear the nose is better, but please, no pictures!!!!

I haven't taken any belly pics since 4 weeks!!! What was I thinking at 4 weeks??

Anyone getting used baby stuff from friends/family/strangers that is not even usable? We've gotten a highchair that is about to collapse w/varnish that is seeping out of the tray...and a bunch of CDs and clothes that are just gross! These folks mean well, but I hope they don't hope to see these things in use. So far we've thrown out much more than we have kept from these donations... (Maybe we look really poor?)

OMG I have a baby! I'm at the hospital because things didn't go quite according to plan, but in trying to use their wifi network it erased my entire post : so I'm just gonna copy the birth announcement DH sent out, cuz it cracks me up, and then tell you the rest tomorrow.

"Oliver Roland Cox was born in Arlington, Virginia, today, August 24, 2007, at 12:41 pm to the proud parents of Paul and Julia Cox.

Like his father before him, Oliver successfully fooled everyone into thinking he was going to come out head first but, two days prior, he secretly shifted himself into a breech position.

After 15 hours of home labor, this breech problem was discovered when the midwife, feeling for Oliver's head, found his testicles instead.

The whole gang subsequently moved to a local hospital, whereupon his mother gave birth to him by CS, where the first thing that emerged happened to be Oliver's buttocks.

His father is already planning to point out to Oliver's future prom date that the first thing of Oliver's anybody touched were his balls, and the first thing anyone saw was his ass.

Young Mr. Oliver came into the world at a fighting weight of 9 lbs., and is currently listed as being 21 inches long.

Both mother and son have fallen fast asleep. And dad will soon follow."

I'll tell you my side tomorrow! For now, suffice it to say that we're both totally thrilled with our new little one, and in my mind how it turned out doesn't matter cuz he's healthy and we're all ok. I'm just hoping that my cat doesn't fall into the aqua doula while we're at the hospital

Cheers, Julia

Congratulations Julia and Welcome Oliver!

I updated the first page. I hope you don't mind but I said he was born on November 24th instead of August. : Considering how tired you all must be right now I'm amazed at how wonderful and funny that birth announcement is - that is truly something to treasure AND embarrass Oliver with many years down the road. So happy to hear that everything turned out well in the end and I can't wait to see pictures!
