I fell short of my goal last month, because I am just totally daunted by the junk drawer. I will get to that this month. I just can't figure out what to do with it, but don't want to throw it out. I guess that is why it's called the junk drawer!

My goal for this month is 300 items.

I missed my goal last month as well, but I'm determined to make this house emptier soon. I'll be more specific soon. I wanted to sub, but I haven't firmed up my goals yet and I have a very climby, whiny baby this morning...

I have a bit of a Halloween sugar hangover, so I'm not sure what my goal is. But this thread really, really helped motivate me last spring.

I fell 16 items short of my goal for last month to declutter 500 items. Plus I have the kitchen and both of my girls' closets to clean out. Oh, and also I boxed up some toys to go through and decide what to toss and what to hang onto.

So, I'm in for 416 this month.

I passed my goal of 200 items last month so this month is 300 things out. (& hopefully not too much in)

I also have certain areas I want to clean out/re-organize.

My nightstand - 1 small drawer/1 large
my underwear/sock drawer
kitchen junk drawer

for dh to do -
his magazine basket in bathroom - why is it always overflowing!!!
organize garage a bit more

organize camping stuff
clean up old toys/misc yard stuff from side of yard

I want to get this all done before I bring out Christmas decorations.

I'm in again. I stopped counting the stuff we got rid of mid-way through although I am confident that we reached our goal of 500 items.

I'm in - I've lurked on this thread a bit but never joined. I think my goal for this month will be 100 items. I need to work on an overflowing junk drawer and piles of paper in the kitchen. I have 3 bags of clothes bagged up just need to donate them which I will do this month. I would also like to go through dc's toys and get rid of anything broken or unused.

OK, I've thought about it, I'm going to go with 500. I had the things to purge last month, just no time to purge them. I NEED this place cleared out by the new year... It's making me crazy.

Would it be wrong to combine my Pantry Challenge with my Decluttering Challenge and count the stuff I use from the pantry (that have been in there forever) as decluttered? I think it's ok, plus it will motivate me. Am I cheating?

I completely sucked last month. I think I only decluttered 21 items. How pathetic is that!

BUT!

This month I'm going to do much better, and I've already started! I think I can declutter 300 items, 10/day, and I've got a head start because I decluttered toys this morning.

I knew this thread would be here waiting for me.

I've tossed 42 toys this morning already. An entire huge box full.

Ideally, I want to go through my clothes and toss/donate what doesn't fit anymore, my file cabinets and toss stuff that is more than oh, say... 5 years old , organize my pictures (in a big bin next to my desk currently), and get the kids rooms ready for Christmas.

Think I can, I think I can...

I need to think today about what my goals will be. It's a little tough with a newborn but if I don't get a head start before the holidays the house will just be a total disaster!

Fell quite a bit short of my goal last month so I am adding that to my planned decluttering for November.

175 (shortage from last month) + 250 = 425

If I tackle the really bad areas like the drawers in the living room cabinet, dd1's closet and my filing cabinet, this should be no problem.

I'd like to join! Today, yes actually the first day of the month, I cleaned out my closet. One bag for Goodwill, several ratty items in the trash and a tidy closet.

My goal is to conquer one space a day- can be a drawer, a shelf, a closet, etc.


I'm batting 1000 right now.

I'm in but I'm not setting a number. I just want to make it to 2007 things by the end of the year. So I need around 450 or so more things. I have so many projects for school right now so whenever I find time.

*work on filing and papers

I'm keeping it small since it will take me all month to do these things anyways.

*Sort through and donate a whole bunch of baby clothes.
*Go through my closet. (DH & I)
*Junk drawer in kithen.

The baby clothes alone should keep me busy all month!!!

My goal is 200 items by Thanksgiving, with a focus on decluttering toys, clothes, holiday decorations, and our disastrous filing cabinet. We are hosting a couple of holiday events in December, and I would like to get everything ready for these in November (except food, of course) so that I don't spend all holiday season running around like crazy.

Hello! I am excited to have been lead to this thread, thanks superstella!

Anyways, my house is a complete clutter museum, so I honestly think I will be able to set my items high, let's say 450? Ya, 450.

Of course I have to let you know that I am somewhat cheating, I have already booked an appointment for a home organizer come and help me organize 2 of the kiddo's bedrooms. I couldn't be more excited to get the help, sometimes it's just sooooo overwhelming.

I tossed a bunch of stuff from both bathrooms - @75-100 items, old stuff, misc stuff, JUNK. I just had a Mama pick up 2 sets of sheets, an old coat, a trivet, & a spoon rest - I will just put todays total at 100 since I know it was over & lost count after that!
