Previous total was 10/100

Giving away on freecycle 15 more items (still usable crock from a broken crockpot, leftover NB sposies, toddler harness, nursing tank, 8 toy vehicles, 2 ladies outfits, and our never carved pumpkin from Halloween)

25/100
I'm 1/4 of the way there

ETA - my previous total was really 13/100 so I'm at 28/100!

I lost count somewhere, but I'll update as best I can now...

5 or so expired items from the fridge/pantry
14 items bagged for donation on Saturday
1 5inch stack of catalogs recycled that came in yesterday's mail :

Ah, an even 20

More to come (or go ) later. I've got some catching up to do!

I got back to it today and I managed to get rid of 2 bags of papers, 2 water containers and 1 bag of melted candles I always thought I'd make in to a new candle but never got around to.

So far today, that's 5 things. I'm hoping to get a few more boxes unpacked so there should be more stuff today.

I managed to get rid of 1 dog crate, 1 bag of dog food, 1 bag of cat food, and 1 giant bag of cat litter (since all my pets have either been rehomed, ran away, or died it seemed kind of silly to have all this pet stuff around).

4 pet items decluttered.

I got dd to go through her dresser, and we gather 38 items for the Salvation Army.

Previous total 28/100

Adding to that: 1 toddler coat refreecycled from last year
23 National Geographics to another homeschooling mom
1 old jar of garlic thrown away/recycled
5 old threadbare pieces of clothing thrown away
pitched 2 unmatched socks

New total: 60/100

I'm adding to my goal: there is another mama on here who was decluttering 2007 items in 2007. Well, I'm going to try and do that for 2008 but I'm going to start now...so my total is really 60/2008

I know how you feel - one of our dogs passed away in Sept and I'm just now giving away his crate, food bin, extra food, etc tomorrow

Today:
6 items shipped to new owner
1 mismatched plant "coaster"
bag of rocks and seashells (don't ask!)

8 for today

Tomorrow: (not counting these yet) 15 or so books to library sale; dog supplies to shelter, and hopefully more!

Man, I am really rolling now! 30 more things from almost every room in the house. 155/150!

Today DD1 is off with my FIL for the day. It's just me and DD2. We just got home from a walk. I'll shower in a minute and we'll get some lunch. Then I want to purge, purge, purge the house of clutter. Esp before the holiday insanity hits. From next week until Xmas I just don't see how I'd be able to keep up.

3 old containers skin cream
5 expired fridge items

287 + 8 = 295
3 items from the pantry. those weren't planned, but i went to see if i had shortening and found three expired blocks of it. it's been tossed.

98 toy items. i'm estimating 10 backyard toys that were broken, 10 being donated to goodwill, the other 78 were tossed. they were junky fast-food toys, random bits of things, and stuff like that.

ohhhhhh....(groan) I'm overwhelmed just reading it all!:

I want to ......I really want to ......there's just so much!!!

Since my last post, I've gotten rid of 8 pantry items.

Tonight should be good. I have friends coming over and they will be forced to take back their big box of records and big bag of books that are in my garage. Also, we give them all our magazines when we're done, and I have MANY for them. We'll probably declutter a little wine too!

One step at a time. I've been doing this for three months. Still there's more to do. I haven't counted pantry/fridge since that's ongoing clutter. But other clutter is slowly but surely being diminished. Pick a room or area of a room and start there.

Today I tossed five picture frames. They were cheapos so I don't feel bad about just throwing them away. I did find a box of toys I'd sorted out of our playroom. I'd put the box aside to go through later. I went through some of the toy boxes yesterday, but didn't realize there was another one!! So, now I need to go through that one too. sigh... :

Can I start the November challenge now or do you guys do this every month? Actually, I'm starting today! Procrastination only leads to more clutter. Something I know tooooooo well.....

Happy decluttering! and thanks for starting this. It keeps the motivation going!
