My list kinda went out the window this month, but I have to admit it was way too ambitious anyway.
I'm cleaning and tidying around the house for the holidays instead, and that counts for something.
Success of the month: Figuring out a way to get my entire peninsula/kitchen counter bare, except for necessary dishwashing stuff (containers for soaking silverware, draining scrubbies, and temporarily storing used washcloths; dishsoap, hand soap, dishrack, and compost bowl). If we didn't have mice under the sink I'd keep more stuff under there. I used to have an Inbox (read: Junk Box) and moved that stuff to a drawer. I used to have a square basket for stuff going to the garage, including recyclables. I consolidated some stuff in a lower cabinet and put recycling in there, and put a basket just on the other side of the garage door for stuff going out there. Voila. No more clutter on my shelf.
My other countertops have (1) a canister of cooking utensils, and (2) three pickle jars, with oatmeal, brown rice, and flour.
That's it. Woohoo! My kitchen is so awesome now, just in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
Oh, another success is the hard work DH and I are doing to negotiate housework. I have had DH's help doing dishes a few days this week already (previously this would never have happened) and it has made a world of difference. Go, us.
