Ok, I get where you'd think there would be a grandpapa, I revise your grade to a C.
What Liam was saying was a daddy robot (un papa robot, which can sound like grandpapa) and a baby robot.

G is sleeping and I actually don't HAVE to be doing anything (oh crap. I just realized I COULD be getting dinner in the crock pot. sigh.)

I am speaking tonight at my future SIL's nursing class about my "alternative birth experience" as her instructor called it

Rita (my FSIL) thought our birth story was so neat and she talked her prof into having me talk during their course on prenatal care. I have 10-15 mins to talk about why I chose to birth at home with a midwife, and to share my birth story, and then I'll answer questions. I also have about 9 of my fav pics from the birth that I will show. I am really excited. I love love speaking in front of people (normally I do youth group, faith based type stuff) and I also loooove talking about birth I think about my birth everyday pretty much lol. The hours are draaaaaagging by until we get to go.

I was thinking period Susan....because that ALWAYS makes my nips sore...but, I was 6 days late and took a pregnancy test and everything - which got me wondering who will be first! My yearly exam was a couple weeks ago and my CNM said "I bet I see you sooner than a year from now...for pregnancy!" I'm totally not ready though...I'm thinking maybe another 6mos at least before TTC.

It must be payback tonight

because G has been up since 3:15 and showing no signs of wearing down soon. I changed her dipe but to no avail. The last few nights she has done a nice 5-6 hour stretch, so we wouldn't want to get too consistent....I'm sure she feels she needs to keep me on my toes...wouldn't want me to get complacent.

Either that or she is harboring anger over the talk I gave this evening...DH came with me to hold her and she ended up getting fussy and he had to take her to an empty classroom down the hall. He said she cried for about 30 mins before falling asleep, and that about 2 or 3 different women came in the room to try to help him out, but as he said, "They didn't know what they were up against." I felt really bad, more for DH than for G, because I know it KILLS him when she cries and he can't do anything for her. I nursed her RIGHT before I started my talk, which only lasted 30 mins, but I guess she needed me.

Anyways, the talk itself went AWESOME. There was about 40 students and I felt it was very well recieved. The prof was very supportive of natural birth and actually said that she had done a lot of research projects on the badness of non-medical inductions and that she tries to emphasize the the students how important it is that if they do OB work that they need to focus on their patient's nutrition, etc. She said if I ever decided to become a lactation consultant or childbirth ed teacher and needed a letter of recomendation or anything like that to let her know. She also asked if I would like to come back next semester to talk to the new group of nursing students. She said that she was so glad they could hear about a natural birth because it's something not all the students will get to see when they do their rotation on the labor and delivery floor and she feels it's very important for them to see birth as a normal process. She was a pretty cool lady and knew her stuff.

All in all, it was a great night, and I had a lot of fun. One of the students came up afterward and said that her sister had just had a baby with my midwife a couple months ago...small world! I ran right up to the end of class so I didn't get a chance to take questions, but I covered a lot of info, and I hope I planted some natural birth seeds

Maybe Gianna is wakeful because she will be sitting up soon?? Do they do that? I hope she sits up soon so my MIL can leave me alone about it..

I hope everyone else is having a GREAT night with lots of long, continuous, un-interupted stretches of sleep!

Glad your talk went so well! Sorry that G was a bit uncooperative and then didn't let you sleep.

S is back to sleeping through the night! Must have been a growth spurt. I have to go on a bisiness trip from Thursday - Sunday so it will help dh if he can get some sleep.

Desmond actually slept for 5 hours last night then was up to eat and went back to sleep for 4 hours. That is the longest stretch we've had in a month. I think I may try putting him to bed around 10 instead of midnight to see if it helps his sleeping patterns any. I would love for him to get back to 8 or 12 hour stretches again. It was a good night with the 5 hour stretch, even if I didn't go to bed till 1am.

Our flight back yesterday was fine, we had a row for DH, Des and me, since the guy who had the other seat moved back a row. He slept through most of the flight again which was nice.

He is really good at standing now, which is kind of scary, he can pull himself to standing just using the wall. He is also attempting to stand with no support, but still only lasts a second or so before falling. I think I may end up with an early walker, eek!

3rd page again - we musty be busy with our mobile or close to mobile babies!

I took Johnny to an indoor education play place today which he loved - he ate a lot of sand in the "ocean" area though! He also suddenly is afraid of slides - I tok him to the park 2wks ago and he didn't even notice them, now he is terrified - and nothing bad has happened! My mom thinks he is just more aware of depth etc sense he is moving around a bit (and falling!)

So I am SO sick of pumping after working and having to pump like 10 times a day and he been letting Johnny have a bottle of formula in the car...but my sister (she's only 9) fed him 2oz of milk that had been sitting in the car for hours before I realized...I called the pediatrician who just laughed and said he would just get a tummy ache and throw up at he worst but probably will be fine - he seems fine so far, its been 3hrs now...I still feel bad though, I should have thought to tel me sister not to feed that to him - and she was so proud of herself for taking care of him too! Oh so the moral of the story: DO NOT BE LAZY AND USE FORMULA!!!!!!!!!! BM definatly would not go bad in that amount of time.

I hope Johnny's ok! I had no idea formula went bad!

So.....doudat, have you gotten your goodmama yet? have you tried one?

I didn't know formula spoilt so fast!! Scary stuff. What could possibly make it go bad so fast? Isn't it just like regular milk? Cause Liam drinks "3 hr outta the fridge milk" all the time to no ill effect. Maybe I'm just a negligent mom?

GM: Never tried one. I bought a new one off FSOT and then bought 3 at yesterday's stocking. And I bought bamboo prefolds. And hemp flats. And Baby Beehinds Bamboo. And a Mutt. And wool.
I've been bad. I suddenly went on a crazy binge. I decided I didn't like the idea of synthetic next to romi's bum... I've got to stay away from DS!! :
