I hope you start to feel better.

Your wench outfit is cute. I'd love the pattern for the hat. I want to make a hat and gloves for Elisabeth,

Re: vaxing
is okay with not vaxing until she's two, hopefully by then he has read and sees why none is good, are good? From what reading I've done, the risks outweigh the benefits.

Woah, That's an interesting agreement. I like it. I'll have to talk to DH about that.

((hug)) for that 7.3% freaked out part of you. Maybe I'm hugging your finger or something.
Anyway, I've been there and back thru abnormal paps & various tests & treatments. I highly recomend reading (or at least skimming) the book What your doctor may NOT tell you about HPV & abnormal pap smears before taking the next step. A colposcopy in and of itself it risk free, but the biopsy that accompanies it can leave scar tissue so I'd bone up before making that decision again.
FWIW, my closest friend has been thru this too. If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

When I searched amazon for that book I see there's one from that series about Phobias & anxiety. I didn't realize there were so many what your doctor may not tell you about____ books. I have the one on vaccines & perimenopause & menopause.

Another lurker coming out of hiding here. I have not posted in a couple of months, but I think I'm all caught up with the thread now. Such a chatty group!

We do selective and delayed vaxing here. We will not do flu, Hep B, Hep A or chicken pox at all. I am on the fence about MMR and would like to find a doc who will separate it if and when we eventually do it. The others we do super slow starting at 6 mos.

I thought I had a sleeper this time, but that is not the case anymore. We have gone from awesome naps in the swing and sleeping through the night to napping no more than 20 minutes at a time (if that) and waking 3-8 times during the night to nurse. We do co-sleep. I am chalking it up to teething and really hoping we will not go through what we did with DD1, which was such extreme sleep deprivation for 18 mos that it gave me PPD.

I'm loving everyone's halloween pics!

Thanks for all the hugs ladies : I really needed them... the past month has been just so crappy for my little family. Dh had been gone for so long before the fire then gone again with no way to see him.
He is home now : I will upload some photos of the fire when I get them... The fire was just so unpredictable... jumping tree tops, taking down houses, jumping roads... they would just have to sleep anywhere they could but found a nice place in a near by baseball field and slept on some blankets poor thing. I know the pay will be good when we get it but I missed the crap out of him... cant wait till I can get my hands on him
I left the next day for Arizona when the call came it... just couldn't see sitting around here all alone. The drive went rather well... we stopped in Las Vegas and stayed in the Luxor Wooo-hooo that was fun. They upgraded us on a tower suite and I took a nice soak in the tub. Ashlyn did rather well for her age. Cole (ds) watched movies and colored the whole way.
Boy my sis-in-laws are crazy girls!! We partied up up for the week... just what I needed. It had been soooooo long since I've been around 'girlfriends' that I just cut loose and had a great time. MIL drove home with me and we stayed in the Luxor again... just couldn't resist that tub We walked the casino and did some on the strip. I must make a child free trip sometime
We've all been trying to recover from the trip and I notice ds has a little mouth on him right now and apparently he cant hear very well either : Oh well to be expected.
Dh only had one day with us before he went back on shift for 48 hours : : Ahh yes pity party for one
anyway on other news thats not so gloomy... Ashlyn is rolling over like crazy now... funny I know most babies have been doing this but my dc seem to take their time so I'm just now enjoying it. I do have some issues with her getting older... just missing my sweet newborn. Time really does seem to fast and my heart aches for the it to stand still sometimes. I really would pay anything to start from the beginning again... yes even do the birth again. It was such a wonderful experience and I would love to relive it.

~amyleigh33~ Hope all turns out well... nothing scarier then health problems that. I'll be thinking of you...

~emiLy~ We should get Delia and Cole together to play (if we lived closer) they would be perfect together with the attitudes Hang in there I know exactly how you feel

~LizzyQ~ how are you doing my dear? Is dh still gone? How are you holding up? I was looking at pics of your lo and he is just so cute I could eat him up!!!

~chrissy~ Good for you doing the 'eat to live' diet . I've heard it really works. Wish I had a strong will to do that. I hear you on the halloween candy... it calls to me

Hello to all the lurkers... I know this thread moves fast but just jump in... cant wait to read about you

Well babe is getting fussy... better Its so nice to be back and to know you guys are here for me :

Thank goodness she's napping right now...
Oh I SO know that sound..... it is NOT a sweet baby-girl sound, more like a demon-child noise.

: that's exactly our plan, except we'll probably do MMR at 2yrs, can't get it separate here AFAIK.

Sounds like you had a nice trip. Glad your dh is home again. That bites about him being on duty for 48 hours. How much time does he get off after that?

Yes, DH still gone. Although, he might come home earlier, because he got laid off (writer's strike). But, he is staying until next weekend, because he said he would house sit for his friend that he has been staying with.. and well, he's been letting him crash there for free, so he kind of owes him a little trade.. So, we don't really know what's going on! : It sort of depends on how long this strike is going to last. It would be cool, though, for it to last a long time, then maybe we could get some more local Utah movie made, since Utah isn't union.

And.. I agree.. you mamas are the BEST :

That is stressful that your dh is laid off because of the strike. What does he do?

I couldn't imagine having to be partnerless for more than a work day. I'd go :, or at least I feel like I would. My sis' husband was military and he was away for up to a month at a time over 6 times a year. I didn't think much of it at the time (it was before I had kids) and now I am in amazement.

~~goodvibes~~ to you mama's going thru it. I hope it's short-lived.

He does grip for films. And the strike effects everyone in the film industry, so pretty much everything is at a stand still until it is over. (and all your TV talk shows will be re-runs)

ITA. And Jeff's new 10 hour days are too long, at that!

Thanks for all the well-wishes, I actually had no idea what the "abnormal lesion" thing meant until you sent me that book link, Laura, and so then I spent at least an hour last night and another bit this morning reading about it and am still pretty confused, I guess. I didn't even realize I was talking to a doctor on the phone, until they said, "The receptionist will call you once she sets up your appointment at the hospital..." So it didn't occur to me to ask questions, since I thought I was talking to a receptionist in the first place. I think I will call on Monday and ask for a doc to call me back to ask some q's.

I can't believe your babies are all talking already!!! Raven is saying daaaaaaaat daaaaaat her dad. I don't know how she figured it out, I only call him that sometimes half-teasing. I wonder if some of your babes are learning mama faster cause you've got older kids calling ya that. She doesn't say mama or mom or anything at all, except I think she is sometimes trying to say "Amy" but I'm not so sure.

Lizzy, I didn't ever know what a "Grip" was so I had to just look it up. What a neat job. Has he ever met anyone really famous???

He has worked on films with pretty famous people, like Christopher Walken (Poolhall Junkies).. and semi-famous people, like the exchange student from That 70's Show and one of the guys from the Daily Show (Unaccompanied Minors), and I guess some teen heart throbs too, lol, since Disney does a lot of their movies in Utah.

I've met more big-time movie stars just from working at Baskin Robbins in Sun Valley, ID as a teenager than he has in his whole film career! (i.e. [In case you are curious] Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Tom Hanks]

OK Mama's I have another question for y'all.

I may be coming over the dark side (ie cloth diapers). My friend uses Fuzie Bunz and she let me try a few and I have to tell you that both DH and I really liked them. Elise seems to like them too. I have had to promise DH that I'd do better in the laundry dept in order to do this so my question for you wise Mama's is....Is there a better diaper than the Fuzie Bunz? I REALLY like the snap things and the ease of the ones she gave me. Also are they all this expensive (13.95 a piece right now)? And how many do you need? Oh, and no wool b/c DD1 has wool issues so I don't want to chance them w/ Elise.

Thanks so much.

Yeah, firemomma, we could get together and maybe our kids would ignore EACH OTHER instead of us! LOL

It is so funny being in a DDC. Henry did the screeching thing a few days ago! He did it a lot for 2-3 days, but not much lately so I hope it stays away. I think they just get so excited about a new loud sound that they have to try it out for a while.

I had a client who lived in Utah in the town where they filmed the outside scenes of Everwood. It was so exciting seeing shop windows of stores that I did the web sites for!

Henry just ate some apple! I gave him 1/4 piece with the skin cut off and just let him gnaw at it. He got off quite a bit of it, and really enjoyed it. Fun!

Henry is definitely not "talking." He doesn't make any sounds on a regular/predictable/communicative level. He babbles, and every once in a while he repeats stuff for several minutes - like "dad" and "hi dad" - during which we can pretend to have a conversation with him.

Fuzzi Bunz are great diapers Michelle. Tons of people LOVE them. You can get by with fewer of them by using them like covers during the day and putting prefolds in them but on top of the fleece, so the fleece doesn't even get wet. Then you just replace the prefold (or insert, but not the microfiber kind - you shouldn't put microfiber up against skin). Then use them as pocket diapers when you go out and at night and stuff. Just get as many as you feel you can afford now, and build up for a few months. People usually spend about $50/month on disposables, so for a few months you can spend that on cloth stuff and then you know you're saving money when you aren't buying more cloth!!

I like Fuzzi Bunz quite a bit. As far as "better" or "worse" it really depends on what you want/need. If you like pockets, FBs are some of the best IMHO. I usually lurk on the TP here or on diaperswappers to try to find good used deals so I don't have to pay $14 per diaper.

As for vaxing, we vax. The only one I delay on is the Hep B that they want to do at the hospital. We decline that one. The rest we do more or less on schedule, except I won't let them do more than two at a time, so we wind up going back for "make-up" sessions every so often.

We are looking at starting solid food in a few weeks here most likely. I am ready... and yet not ready. This is my last baby and thinking that this will be the last time I will ever have an exclusively breastfed babe is really bittersweet for me. And I love looking at his little chubby rolls of baby fat and thinking, "that all came from me!"

WAHM Thread

Ok, I finally got it up, what a busy week. WAHMs, come post here with WAHM issues.

I just have to brag while I am here, I got tired of wearing the one pair of jeans that I have that fit and sucked it up and opened the drawer of pre-pregnancy pants and tried them on and HOLY CRAP they fit. : I am so proud. DH congratulated me and then we made a pact to quit eating junk food again (potato chips especially) because I still have 20lbs or so to lose before I am at a truly healthy weight and I want to be there before we have another baby (yes, it's a topic of discussion around here, but it'll be another 10-14 months before we go there I think).

to all the mamas needing them. Being oartnerless sucks, as does worrying about health and money. I hate all three things

We use FBs and love them! Pockets are ways beeter than AIO I find because the dry faster. We have used a few varieties of diaper and I like poskets the best. And of the 4 pockets I have tried, I like FBs the best. We have 16 and that lasts us about 2.5 days right now. I stuff them because I like the fleece on his skin, keeps him more dry. We also do EC in the morning (so he usually poos and pees on the potty when he wakes up.

I must get some work done for a man who embezzled $6 billion dollars (perhaps I should ask for a raise )
