I'm making a couple pairs of longies for a friend's DD out of old sweaters. She's a very tall 2yo, and neither the arms nor the body of the sweater are long enough to cover the length from ankle to waist.
So how would I piece these together, not having a single piece long enough for the whole length of the pants? Would I have to make the body and legs separate pieces? Is there some way to hide the joins somehow, without making the pants look goofy?

) I've been mostly making smaller things as my little one will be small for the next year, but I've been keeping this tip in my mind for when I start looking for sweaters to make into her second winters wardrobe.
