(not PG related, exactly..)

my assistant/ office manager (it is just the two of us in the office) is in the hospital with an acute kidney infection.. they can't seem to get a handle on it.. first off, I am really worried about her, that is the main thing.. second , she is uninsured... poor thing... third... what am I going to do without an assistant and a new doc in when I am out??? This is a potential disaster of huge proportions on all fronts.. all prayers welcome, but especially for her health.. she is 26, just got married and has 6 yr old ident twin girls... help!

Work stuff has always been a huge stress for you and now this! : It's the weirdest timing, if nothing else. Poor girl, too! I wish I could give you some advice, but other than looking for a temporary replacement, and that's stressful too, I have NO idea!

I really can't have a temp assistant and a temp doc at the same time... NOBODY would know what the HE!! to do, it is not a "normal" kinda job.... hopefully she will be better by the 12th.. that is over a week.. if I go before then I will just close and pray, if I stay PG I can hold it together alone, if she is NOT back by the 12th I am screwed, totally... pls pray

Ugh! I was in the hospital two years ago with an acute kidney infection--it was awful. I was septic, the whole nine yards by the time we got a handle on it. It took almost a week in the hospital with IV Cipromyacin, which pretty much burned out the blood vessels in my arm, plus two weeks of oral Cipro afterwards to knock it out. The it recurred twice. Seriously nasty and very painful. I figure if I got through that I can do natural childbirth!

If its any consolation, though, she really should feel better by the 12th, at least well enough to work, assuming they get everything under control soon.

OMG, Laura! How am I just seeing this post? I've been in a fog, I guess... I am so sorry. I hope she's on the mend soon...it sounds rough all the way around.
