WHAT has MDC done to me?

I've never had so many contractions, so much pain when baby moves, so many worries about position, so much pressure on my cervix, and so much pain in my groin with any other pregnancy!! I've also never made it this far without getting sick with PIH and toxemia. And I've never had support for a homebirth.

I am beside myself. It's like completely starting over and I have NO clue what's happening in my own body. I am not sure whether to be happy or really, really ticked off here!

((((((((Hugs))))))))

I am sooooo badly wanting to know if this baby is a boy or girl. All this prep labor is maddening. And yet I feel like I will never be ready!

No grace here.

I also find myself much more aware of what's going on this time. I notice a lot of little things I probably just ignored/overlooked/never noticed before and it makes me think a lot more too (is it a sign? is it not? does it mean anything? what does it mean?).

I'm not sure if I like being so aware of changes or if I rather be blissfully unaware...

I understand. I've actually backed off posting in the last few weeks just because of all the posts about noticing this sign or that sign of impending labor. I just can't be allowing thoughts of baby coming at this point and I don't want to be caught up in all of the waiting and watching.

At yoga last night, our visualization during deep relaxation was imagining our cervixes as flowers and watching the petals fall off and having baby come out through each part of the birth canal. I was really careful to avoid thinking about what she was saying. Being so close to my due date and dh coming home, I was afraid a visualization like that would put me into labor.

And I agree, I like being blissfully unaware, but it's awesome to be empowered and in control of our bodies.

I've gotta say I think it's better here than on the mainstream board that I also frequent. It seems like everyone here is obsessing over possible labor symptoms, but over there everyone's obsessing over possible labor symptoms AND getting artificially induced!

As a first timer, I feel lucky to at least know about baby positioning but I'm trying not to get too freaked out about it. I recline sometimes but I also sit on a birth ball sometimes. Lots of babies turn right before birth too.

Of course I can say this because I'm due tomorrow but have NO labor symptoms. There's nothing to obsess over! I'm not even having contrax! Maybe my baby will be the first one in history to not come out. :

I agree. The mainstream boards just make me feel like I'm a nutcase. If I post about bfing there I'm GOING to hear about how someone just "will not" do that. Then I sit there biting my tongue. Oh and mention cloth diapering and you've got to explain the whole thing.

I loke mdc much better. There are some hardcore people here, but most of us just seem like mamas interested in conscious parenting.

I was on a mainstream board or two for about 2 weeks once pregnancy was confirmed, and then I had to gettouttathere!

My mainstream board hated me. Anything I posted was deemed as scary and pushy. @@
