Maltodextin vs. Sunflower Oil vs. Dry Milk Powder

Okay, so I'm going to make my dad a white chocolate cake for my dad for his birthday. It's going to be white flour and sugar. But I want to make it with a "better" white chocolate. Most white chocolate has dry milk powder in it. I can't bare to think to use dry milk powder so I went looking for a vegan bar.

I found 2 vegan bars, one with "maltodextrin" as an ingredient and the other with "sunflower oil". I can't tell which I should use. Maltodextrin is a modified food starch, I think......but sunflower oil isn't supposed to be cooked. I'm leaning towards the sunflower oil bar.

What do you think?

I think if you're using white flour and refined sugar to make the cake, it's already poison...so why agonize over which chocolate bar to use?

Bad on one side, bad on the other side. So, I think I'd just taste them and see which one tastes better.

Maltodextrin is derived from corn and the vast majority (as in what, 99%?) of corn sold in this country is genetically modified. I'd go with the sunflower oil.

Yeah, I hear you with not agonizing over the details like this, but I'm using high quality ingredients, even if they aren't very nutritious.

My dad loves white chocolate, so I want to make him something really special as he's not into traditional foods. I think I'll go with the sunflower oil bar, especially after looking at it again, it's organic.
