Ever wonder if the bar is set too high?

Today we did our regular @20 minutes of morning work and read a new library book before heading out to our hs group's game/indoor play day from 10-1 (including a packed lunch). Then home to quickly get ready for dd1's horse riding lesson during which dd2 and I play games and read together as ds (hopefully) naps. Then home @4. I refused requests to set up a "playdate" at that point, because gee, we're approaching dinner time, etc. The girls decided to play 'puter and then outside with the neighbor children.

BUT,
When dh asked the girls at dinner about their day he was told, "Mom wanted us to have a kinda down day, so we stayed home after DD1's lesson.":

Anyone else experience this phenomenon?

Sounds like you had a pretty full day, even if your child didn't. (that is a joke )

I think that is quite a lot to do--perhaps it is because we're introvert-types, but that sounds like a pretty busy day to me (at least for mom )

But that sounds like something a kid would say...

Wait - do you have a 5yo?

I swear, it doesn't matter what he did that day, by 7pm all anyone gets out of him is "I did math today". Forget the rest - you'd be hard pressed to get more than that - he could have seen pink elephants, gone to the circus, went over Niagara falls and swung from a trapeze, but you would get to hear that "he worked on math" *sigh*
