sharp pains

i'm at 36w and a fairly new development is that i'm feeling sharp, stabbing pains even when i make what i consider to be slow gentle movements -- like getting up from the couch or rolling from one side to the other. what was discomfort last week is suddenly excruciating.

i have a regular midwife appointment on tuesday, and i'm not so worried that i'd call her before then, but is there anything i can do other than take it easy and move even more slowly? this is normal, right?

Are they all the time or just every once in a while? I get sharp pains in my lower ab every once in a while, assume it's just the baby settling in.

oh i should have clarified! they're not fetal movements, they're mama movements. they happen if i twist my abdomen at all, or am in the process of standing up... or sitting down... they happen a LOT, is what i'm saying, and how gentle or slowly i move doesn't seem to stop them from happening.

Well as long as babe is still moving about in there, I wouldn't worry about it too much, but would def mention it to your mw on Tues. Hope you take some time to rest and go even slower.

I get those too! I asked midwife about them and she said they are just the round ligaments. She told me to slow down and don't try to get up so fast. BAH!

I've got something like that going on too and it's definately not RL. IT's the same spot on the lower left side. If I'm rolling over or sitting up it just burns and burns no matter how slow.

My OB said it was just from over-stretched muscles crying out "Have mercy!" his words weren't quite so dramatic though.
