Can't make sense of these contractions

I'm awake.
I've been awake since 3.
I'm having contractions but I just cant make sense of the pattern. I'm having a LOT of them, but the pattern is something like 7 minutes- 7- 7- 7- 4 - 9 -2- 7- 7- 7-4- etc. Pressure in my crotch is very strong. Back sore. Have had several loose bowel movements since 3 am. At my MW appt on thursday i was 2 cm and 30% effaced.
My only other labor was totally pit-induced, so I know nothing of what real 'natural' contractions feel like as opposed to BH.

This is probably nothing, just because today is a very convenient day to have her be born. Today would work for everyone. I'm just not that lucky.

Dh is about to leave for work because I'm afraid if I keep him here I will stall, and this will end up being nothing, and he will lose a whole days pay.
Wish this baby would send a fax or something to let us know if she's coming!

So, am I in labor or what? :

*Edit: Grr. Its 10:30, and all activity has ceased, save for the sciatica that has now made my left hip/butt area very unhappy.

I'm never having this baby. :
My mother is seriously ill, and most likely in her last days/weeks of her life. Her doctor has told her if I go overdue that she may not live to see her granddaughter be born. I am so devastated, I am Ground Zero. She told me this morning that this baby needs to come now. I'm terrified.

Sounds like your body is doing some work... Not sure what that means in terms of active labor, but none of this is ever wasted. I'm sorry you're feeling stressed and worried. What can you do to take care of/pamper yourself?

Sorry sweetie...but it doesn't sound like this is "it" just yet. That doesn't mean it can't turn into labor on a dime though. These more intense BH contractions can last for awhile or just be the start of something more.

You'll know for sure that it's time when there is a pattern to your contractions...and no variability at all. Oh and they continuously get more intense over time. BH do not (despite the crotch pain).

If you want this to move into true labor, try walking (and the other natural induction methods). Your body is obviously trying to do something. Maybe you can just help get it going faster. GL!

That happened to me a week ago! I had tons of loose stools, contractions every 5min from 9 in the morn to 2 at night. I was having a ton of pressure, pain, and sore back. I had a Dr appt anyway and I was only 1cm and 60% effaced. Everything stopped at 2 in the morn!: What a bummer. So if it is it for you Good luck and if Not Sorry, I know that is sucky!

I think we should all swallow day planners so our babies would come at the appointed time!

Sorry you're in limbo, Lisa.
