Without a baby in my arms....
But, that's ok, it's better off inside for now, thankfully. And I'm days away from my EDD, and really didn't want another induction...but, of course, would have done it if the baby wasn't safe.
Briefly, we spent hours in LD having another NST and a BPP. Thurs night it took hours to get any movements at all, and that was after about a gallon of juice, lots of cookies, crackers, candy...we tried everything! Def scary, and I'm so glad I listened to my gut and went in. Yesterday, it was still fairly quiet, but did have some movements after about an hour. The heart rate was much better, and it was responding much better to the cx's I was having.
I went for a BPP, just a long u/s that looks for 4 things, and grades the baby. The first was movement, and one huge positive thing is that the baby was WILD (poor thing, I hate u/s as I can only imagine how loud/odd it must be for the baby) lots and lots of movements. Its head is SO FAR into my pelvis, we could only see the upper lip, and occasionally a peek of the rest of the head. It had tons on tongue movements, totally practice suckling. It was so neat to watch. The mw and u/s tech were amazed at how far down the head it. It really is hanging out of me.
Another positive thing was my fluid level, which was a bit concerning given my recent measurements havent really gone up - the fluid was 17.7 (!!!) But, given that the head is so deep, it really isn't a factor in the growth of my belly, so, another hurdle overcome.
But, the best thing to come out of it was the cord and placenta. Both look ok at this point. This was the biggest concern to us. The placenta is aging, and it might be more than usual at this point, but, my dates could be off. We really dont know *how* I got preg when I did as we were avoiding to start IF treatments. The cords vessels looked good. This is what might have gotten me induced...but, we are all comfortable just waiting a bit longer. I think we only got "half-credit" for the condition of both.
No practice breathing at all, but, I'm not too concerned. We did get "points" off for that.
So, phew. Induction avoided for now. I need to go back in on Tues for repeats (or sooner if the movements slow again).
There's a big storm near us today (big low pressure system) and my MW said maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones who is affected by low pressure systems...apparently they see more births (water breaking) during big storms than during full moons.
