I am currently taking a break from the program, but I highly recommend it. I can not speak well enough about the wonderful women who run it. I have been greeted with such warmth and help. The curriculum is largely handled by your preceptor with the college giving a fairly loose outline of what you need to learn. I love the flexibility and support that this program offers. Best of luck!

I have looked into this program quite a bit. I've read all of their information online and had a lot of contact with the women who run the program. They are so warm and welcoming. They invite you to ask as many questions as you can think of. I highly recommend calling them and speaking with someone first hand. I'm just starting out as a doula in my community. I hope to develop a relationship with the midwives in my area through my doula practice, in order to look for preceptors and mentors. By doing this I can figure out how they conduct themselves at a birth, their unspoken philosophies of birth, and if they would be a positive preceptor for me. If you already have someone in mind to be your preceptor, I believe you've accomplished the most difficult part of starting with NCM! Good luck!
