my left leg/left butt bone/left giney bone/hips are killin' me. hot tub helps...but of course i can't be in it all the time...megh and i go most every night...heaven!!! is there anything else i might do for this pain??? it burns so bad right inside where my giney meets my leg...yowwwwwwwza!!! it hurts to walk...it hurts to move when laying down... just took some tylenol extended caps...they are 500 mg. each and i took 2. hopefully this isn't hurting baby. i've taken these before and had no problems...probably should have called MW before i did this. but i figure its tylenol and they give it in the hospital...not that that makes it really a 'safe' thing to do... :

to top it off, megh has a 102 temp. she is so rosey cheeked its making me so sad. i give her tylenol (kids meltaways) and it helped last night but man she is roasting now as night is approaching. i wnat her to take it easy and my moms boyf's sons 9 and 14 are here for the night... (well not here, but at their condo a few buildings down...) i want megh to take it easy and i reallllllllllly don't wanna deal w/ her having to sit at any table to drink some juice or whaever and have her have a fit about it...i can't take it tonight. wish she'd fall asleep................she's just relaxing in the bed watching cartoons eating crackers...........i hate when she is sick, it breaks my heart.

Go to a chiropractor. It was the only thing that helped me AT ALL. I'll be honest, too, the pubis symphasis still bothers me. I'm hoping it will get better with time. My sil has it, also, and says it gets better, but her babe is 6 mos and she still has some residual from it. Chiropractor has been the only thing that helps her, also.

unfortunately that isn't one of my options right now...no money for it. i had 2 adjustments in MN but then i moved out here... i'm still waiting for my birth certificate to arrive from illinois so i will officially get my oregon health plan card...sigh...pain in the patooks. :

so i'll have to settle for home remedies...maybe lunges??? squats??? or just do what i'm doing and go in the hot tub as i can....relax as i can and take it easy as i can???

omg thomas is a beautiful babe as are your other babies!!! love the pic!!! so how was labor and birthing w/ pubic pain? was it more difficult or did you not feel the pubic stuff during this? i remember after a a while laboring w/ megh i couldn't even feel good sitting on a birth ball......i was in a hospital though and then i gave in to meds...etc. etc. etc. this time will hopefully be different.

I found that standing with your hands in front of you on a chair or table with legs shoulder width apart and lifting the leg straight out to the side for a few reps helps. Slow controlled movements are the key. Also try lying on the right side for a bit. I know we're supposed to be on the left, but dang it, there for a while it was the only thing that brought lasting relief, and at least it wasn't flat on my back. For the pubic pain, try getting on all fours and rocking. I had that for almost a week and finally the baby shifted over the bone and into the pelvis. It was almost comical trying to stand up and walk anywhere. By the look on my face people thought I was going into hard labor because it hurt so bad. I hope these help you out.

Lunges and squats would be good. Also, lay on the floor and have someone try to hold your knees together while you try and pull them apart. Then switch. Try to push your legs apart while the person tries to push them back together. When you do this, do it w/ your feet in 3 different positions: feet together, toes pointed in, and toes pointed out.

You know what, funny you ask. I have NO MEMORY of it bothering me AT ALL during the entire labor. It was about 4 hrs from the time I woke up w/ ctx to the time I had a little baby in my arms, but I honestly did not have ANY trouble w/ it.

Thanks for the compliments on the kids! *beaming*

Tylenol is safe .

My pubic symphasis pain is pretty bad too. At night it's almost impossible to lift my leg to stand up to go pee. It sucks. A good exercise is sitting and having someone apply counterpressure to the inside of your knees as you push outwards (or vice versa) or trying to squeeze a decent sized ball between your legs (kinda like what a thighmaster does).

Has squatting been mentioned? Its also helped with my pubic sym. pain. And pelvic rocks too.

Not in your ddc. But a fellow spd sufferer. I'd be cautious of squatting. It could hurt things. That ligament can tear. Not that you cant squat..just be careful getting up and down.

Your pelvis isnt stable when you have spd. Doing things that cause your pelvis to separate further can cause more problems. I cant even imagine doing lunges with that. I 'd never have gotten up lol. Laying on my back and doing the knee exercise Justthatgirl was talking about helped me. Others might have good luck with squatting and lunges I guess. But I am nearly positive that lunges would have killed me. I did some supported squatting. I guess just be careful.

And i have had spd twice now and never noticed it during labor. I was squatting with my last birth even. Although I was in a pool lol.

Earlier in my pregnancy, yoga and warm baths helped the PS pain a lot, but now that we are down to the end, it really isn't abating. My best advice would be to keep moving as much as you can -- for me the pain is the WORST after I have been sitting or laying down a long time. Take your time getting up, esp. out of bed. One yoga stretch that helps is the right angle stretch - bend forward at a right angle with your hands flat on a wall in front of you. Turning your toes in can help with sciatica too.

Hang in there!
