pap question...kinda weird

okay..
so after i had my little one (i had him at a bc but didnt scream so i had him unassisted )
i went back for the 6 week pp visit. i decline the VE, and she checked my paperwork to see if she was going to recommend a pap, and said i didnt need it, i was all set, i dont need one right now, and did i have any more questions? and i looked at her funny, and was like...ummmm...and asked something, i dont remember what.

okay, well i looked at her funny because ive never had a pap in my life, to my knowledge. ive only ever had one ve while not in labor, and it was in january when i was 18 weeks with my youngest, the first "midwife" appointment somewhere else.
i only let her do it cause i was going along with the gonorrhea/chlamydia testing, i dont think you shoukld do a pap while pregnant.
i told her that, she looked at me like i was stupid, but said okay.
now, she did do something, step away, and do something else...and made me suspicious but she said she didnt do one. fine, whatever.
this was before i got medicaid, (i was in the hospital a week later almost dead from anemia and a kidney infection that had spread o my bloodstream :sigh: and they got me medicaid) and so i got the bill at the time. the only bill i got was for a gonorrhea/chlamydia test.

so do you think she did a pap anyway, and maybe it got billed to medicaid (but i didnt get it until a bit more than a month later...)or...????
cause im kinda confused!!

if your bill doesnt have pap on it then it was probably not done. no organization (md/midwife etc) is going to do a pap and then not bill for it somewhere. in my opinion paps are very important if you have been sexually active for more than 3 years. you need to be proactive about your body. cervial cancer is a silent cancer.

Maybe when she looked at your chart to see if you were all set she saw the tests done at 18 weeks and just assumed that you had also had a pap at the same time?
