raw milk - three quick questions

Hi! Last week we purchased our first 1/2 gallon of raw milk - it was delicious! And I'm in love! I feel so much better giving this to DS in the morning. Anyway, here's my quick questions:

1. is it okay to freeze raw milk? will it retain all of its "good stuff"? (I'm planning on stocking up as the farmer's market where we purchase it is only there 'til Christmas).

2. will making it into smoothies with frozen/fresh fruit affect it in any way (I mean nutrient-wise not consistency-wise)? DS doesn't like it straight out of the bottle, but will drink it if I make a smoothie from it.

3. DS has a major salycilate sensitivity (as well as phenol I suspect) so giving him a 1/2 bananana each day in said smoothie is starting to, ahem, show some not-so-pleasant behavioral effects. SO, I was wondering if putting a teensy bit of natural vanilla extract in it and blending it would be okay? (I know this may be a "no no" as far as TF, but we're just getting started and DS needs some gut-healing, etc. so we're just starting with some baby steps for now and plan on progressing).

Any info from raw milk experts would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

Lots of people freeze their raw milk. I believe it slightly affects some of the nutrients, though not much. I'm sure it's still way better than the alternatives.
Using it in a smoothie is absolutely fine! I think most traditional foodies use it in smoothies, with all sorts of fruits and veggies. I have to use it that way to get my DH to consume it. Whatever works!
If bananas are bothering him, skip 'em. There are lots of fruit combinations you can use. Bananas aren't necessary, though they do add a nice texture, huh? I have thrown a few ice cubes in to thicken mine when I don't have any bananas. It also helps to use some frozen fruit. That adds a lot of texture and thickness. I freeze a lot of fruit in the summer and use it all winter long. Some of my favorites are peaches, apricots and cherries. You could also try freezing some of your milk in ice cube trays and throwing those in your smoothies to make a nice slushie textured drink.
I'm sure you'll get lots of good ideas from the mommas here. They are all so helpful when you're still learning your way.
Good luck!
