I pay about $2 a week for grocery lists at www.thegrocerygame.com
and I clip coupons anywhere I can find them. The Grocery Game lists all the sale items at the stores and matches them up with coupons. It also tells me whether it's a REAL sale - A $3.60 item that's 2 for $4 this week - or a fake sale - A $3.60 item for 2 for $7. And if you have a coupon for that item you can get it below half the regular price.
It also tells me where produce is cheapest - one store might have Asparagus for $7/lb and another store has it for $1.88. (real example)
Since I've been doing it a few weeks and have a stockpile of things like pasta, canned veggies, frozen meats, cheese, and things like that built up, I only buy the things at each store that are at least 60% off the regular price unless I really NEED them.
By buying a ton of whatever while it's cheap - for example I got some whole wheat spaghetti for $.17 - I can avoid paying full price for it when I need that item.
Another thing to keep your eye on is the "blinkies", or the coupons you find on the shelf in a little blinky box. Grab a bunch of those and then watch for that item cheap at other stores. I got a bunch of blinkies for $.55 off tuna pouches. At grocery stores these tuna pouches are $1.50 or so. But at Target they are usually a dollar. Then they went on sale for $.83. After my blinkies I got a bunch of tuna pouches for $.28 each. Any coupon that doesn't say a store name on it can be used at any other stores - don't assume you have to use it where you found it.
Also you can combine Store coupons with Manufacturer coupons. I do this at Target often. You can get Target coupons at http://sites.target.com/site/en/supe...upons_specials
If you do not have a printer, go to Target and go to the kiosks for wedding registries. You can print the coupons out there for free.
I print and save the Target coupons and wait until I have store coupons to combine them and the item is on sale too. Or better yet on Clearance. Target lets you use coupons on their clearance items. I had coupons off clearance granola bars and got them for $.10 a box.
And though I don't live near any stores that double coupons, I've heard that if you do you can get many things for free.
That's a basic rundown..I can answer any specific questions you have.
Grocery Game is doing a $1 trial where you can try it for 30 days. You might give it a shot and see if it helps you. It saves me a ton of money and time.
