I don't know what Sicko is but for being in tears.

It's Michael Moore's documentary on the health care system (or lack thereof) in America. I agree that it's sad!

When I watched it last week I was yelling and cursing. I was sitting by the front door, which was open, and it was later in the evening. I am sure my neighbors thought I was having a drunken spat with someone. I guess I kind of was The powers that be and all:

Superstella, "Sicko" is Michael Moore's newest movie about the completely messed up health care system we have here in the land o' the free.

Geez, just thinking about it gets me all heated

I was pretty emotional by the end too. First time I cried during a movie.:

Is it out of theatres now? I'm scared to watch it-I'll probably end up screaming and yelling. I'm already extremely dissatisfied with the US healthcare system, to the point of thinking that some of them (or maybe most? I hope not!) have forgotten what caring and helping really means.

I downloaded Sicko last night and I am not even a third of the way through it. This movie is completely heartbreaking.

I want to watch it, but I'm afraid I'll get upset too...

Can someone give some examples? I've never heard of the movie, although I have watched a previous MM movie before. I'm also in Canada and your health care system is "interesting" to say the least...

I am sure I am going to be very emotional about it here. My cousin died because he didn't have medical insurance and was having a heart attack (he knew it) and refused to go to the hospital because of what it cost. His wife a month before had some complication with her diabetes, and just from a few days in the hospital the bill was over $17,000 for that. His wife and brother had to wait until he had passed out before they could get an ambulance to take him in. He died waiting to go to the cath lab. They needed those hours, and they said if they had them he likely would have lived.

It is so ridiculous to me that the US cannot take care of their own, they "claim" to be a wealthy nation. This NEEDS to change and soon. We pay a TON for our health insurance here, and most people at my DH's work cannot afford to buy it for their families (ours is over 7 grand a year...).
