We lit a candle for Lilly Rose in our church service today. A tiny gesture towards a gaping, fathomless grief.

Two years ago, my very close friend lost her 14 month old dd. She put her to bed with a tummy ache and Grace never woke up. There is just nothing, nothing you can say or do to get over it. I still kiss my ds in memory of Grace every day-thanking God that he is with me and marveling how fragile life is. It just isn't fair.

I am so sorry for you, and for your friend.

Oh my God

Did you by chance mean MCAD? Or MCADD? My new baby cousin was just born last month and diagnosed with it. I did some research and understood he is at risk of complications if he throws up with an illness without getting immediate intravenous treatment.

I am shocked and saddened to read of your friends baby dying of this from a simple stomach bug No parent should have to live with those fears.

I am so sorry.

Please don't feel that you don't have a right to be upset. The loss of a child is devastating whether it was your child or not. Just reading about a childs death in the paper makes me sad. I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm sorry you're greiving. She was blessed to be loved by you.
