Wellll, my faithful office assistant is still in the hospital (since WED) she got a severe kidney infection (came from within, NOT from bladder) and her whole system went septic.. she actually almost died.. (she is 26!) , docs are keeping her and waiting (hoping/ praying) she gets her kidney function back (it is pretty poor right now) she is very very sick and prayers are needed.. thanks..

Believe me, the probs it is causing me in my office are NOT EVEN a consideration at this point.. I am just worrried about her health..

hopefully we will have apos update soon

(((((((((hugs)))))))))

You know you can be worried about her and still have office worry too and not be a bad person for it. Just wanted to let you know that. Brightest blessings and healing thoughts to her and you too!

:

Do you think your patients would understand if you closed your practice for a couple weeks due to emergency? It's not an ideal solution but I don't think it's outrageous either, especially with the holidays coming up.

Wow. That's a lot to deal with..for all of you. I hope things look up soon. Is there another chiro nearby you're friends with who would let you "borrow" a CA for a few weeks? We've done that before when we had a friend in a tight situation with a CA MIA. GL!

I have plenty of people to BE there, ans phone etc etc but the prob is the fill in doc has no idea who anyone is or what their "routine" is and all that so I REALLY need someone in there who knows the pts and that the pts know, also to get billing out and use the software and our (very unique to say the least) idiosyncratic way my office runs... my best bet is to get my old assist (of 12 yrs) to throw a few days at me if she can get childcare.. I'm working on it.. I have only had the two assistants in the last 13 yrs in there so it is really hard for pts to get used to a new face esp if ALL faces are new.. does that make any sense?? If Lori can make it back by the 12th I'm all set, I think she will be able to.. this coming week I will handle it or just close and wait until the 12th... ahhhhhh the joys of running a small biz!! I am much more relaxed about it than I was last week.. I am just taking it as it comes!

Oh I see, that's a tough situation. Glad to hear you're working out some backup with your former assistant. I'll keep my : that it works out for you!

Wow Laura, tough situation. Hoping your poor assistant starts to feel better soon - it's scary to hear about things going so quickly downhill for someone.
