No signs of labor

I know, I know. It is still early. But I do NOT feel like I am going to have a baby in 3 weeks (tops). As I mentioned they are not letting me go past 40 weeks. I have no contractions at all- barely even any B-H. No mucous. Nothing. Can't SOMETHING happen to make it reality that there will be a baby here in a few weeks?

The only thing that is happening is that I am freaking exhausted. As usual. I would not even say I am nesting yet. *sigh*

With my first birth I had NO contractions, NO BH, no lost mucus plug, nothing. At 6 PM I started having mild cramping and spotting and at 8:30 my water broke.

Not much different this time around, other than some BH and an occasional random cramp, and I'm 5 days out from my due date.

I'm pretty certain that you WILL have a baby! You just might not get a lot of advance notice.

I hope you are right- I hope at some point she is born. : It doesn't seem real... DH and I were talking this morning about it and he said "OMG. In 3 weeks we will have a baby here! Crying and pooping and stuff!" I am in disbelief. Is anyone else in disbelief?

Hah I'm still in disbelief and have no signs of labor.... and I was due yesterday!

This is my first and I've heard that they're often "late" so I'm just being patient & waiting for her to be ready. I don't think I ever really nested, except to buy all kinds of stuff that I'd need for the first couple post-partum weeks. I keep buying too much toilet paper. : There's still dust in the nooks and crannies of the house but I don't have the energy - or balance - to take care of that anymore.

Erica it's good to know that I could go into labor without having lots of early signs!

In retrospect, I think it's actually easier that way! I was SOOOOO certain that I would go over and my midwife was SOOOOO fretful about my lack of cervical readiness that we were completely taken by surprise.

This time around I feel like a ticking time bomb!

OK, I feel better that I am not the only one. But as Curlita said, they WILL be born. At some point. We may be pregnant for 50 weeks but they will come! (a pregnant girl at work asked me how far along I was a few months back and I said 26 weeks. She said "oh, you are almost halfway there!" I hope someone tells her the truth or she is in for a surprise!

Today is my due date and I have no signs of labor either--and the whole thing doesn't seem very real to me most of the time... Sometimes I realize that a baby really is coming and I get butterflies in my stomach and am just so excited--but most of the time, I feel like pregnancy is my new lifestyle.

For me, everything gets to happen in its own time (I'm choosing not to think about the possibility of going post-term, when of course that would change) so its probably a bit easier to feel like I can just wait things out since I don't have a 40 week deadline, though.
Hang in there--your little girl will come...and soon

Maybe she is having an elephant... I think they gestate longer.

I have 2 weeks til my EDD and I have no signs to speak of. I have lots of BH contractions, but I've been having them since about 22 weeks, so I don't think of them as a sign of anything. Sometimes I get a little crampy, but I think that's more the weight than anything else. Some days (like today) I'm achy and tired, other days I have tons of energy and want to go hiking or nest or something. Definitely nothing that seems to be leading anywhere.

Sometimes I'm impatient, but other times I think I'd like to wait until at least 40 weeks. Then I'll REALLY be ready. It helps me to read about other people who have all these signs that don't lead anywhere. I'm sure it's terribly frustrating for them, but it keeps whatever little things I feel in perspective. The babe will come when s/he's ready, and not before.

I am wondering if my house will be more ready in 3 weeks than it is now... judging by what i have not done today I would say I will be right around the same point of unreadiness.
