Metal or plastic snaps for dipes?

Thread Starter
After getting the hang of sewing regular Poopockets I want to make some that are covers...so I need some snaps or Aplix.

Personally I prefer snaps cuz DS has already figured out how to undo the aplix. Should I get metal or plastic snaps? I've found metal snaps w/a snapsetter on a couple of sites....plastic snaps are harder to find setters for.

What do you veteran dipe-sewers prefer and why?

TIA!

Just thought that I'd add in my .02. I just made my first cover and used metal because it was cheaper. I have a cover with plastic and would have prefered that but I just couldn't see spending $80+ on the press forget about the actual snaps.

As of right now, there is no "home version" of a snap setter for plastic snaps, like there is for metal ones. So if you want plastic snaps (which I *do* like better), you either have to find a WAHM with a snap setter to put them on for you (I know there is a list of snap WAHM's on www.diapershop.com), or shell out the $80 for the snap press + $50 for the die set + whatever it costs for the snaps. You can always resell the press, but that's a lot of outlay for a bit of home use.
