Bad Ronald

Any one remember seeing this movie of the week back in 1974 with Scott Jacoby, Kim Hunter, and Dabney Coleman?

The story line is about a nerdy guy named Ronald whose mother wants him to grow up to go to medical school and take care of her. She is afraid of going to doctors so she wants her son to treat her. Ronald goes out one day to see his girl crush and she spurns him at her pool party with the football team. The girl's little sister ridicules him, and he accidentally kills her. Ronald tells his mom who agrees to hide him until the heat is off since no one will believe it is an accident. So they create a room and wall it off in their big house. He stays there.

Meanwhile, his mom decides it is time to get her medical condition taken care of with surgery; she tells him she will be home in about two days. She dies on the table instead. The house is sold to a family with three little girls. Ronald's mental condition goes downhill; there is a lot of suspense and creepiness with holes drilled in the walls and Ronald escaping to eat and forage.

Someone reminded me of it this morning. I realized I have not seen Scott Jacoby in years. it was a thriller.

I remember one scene. There is a blonde girl there of about 9 or 10 and he pushes her down and she hits her head on a rock and dies, right?

It used to come on in the afternoon at 4. There was always the 4 o'clock movie that ran in the time slot between 4 - 5:30 before the news started, and they did a lot of the same movies. I saw the Dark Secret of Harvest Home and that one with the I Dream of Jeannie lady impregnated by aliens quite a few times.
