Can anyone recommend one for kids? I think that's what Santa will bring this year for dd1 and dd2 (ages 5 and 3). I've been looking online but there are so many to choose from. I know we need two microphones but I'm not sure what other features to focus on.

Check this site out, they carry a variety of machines and discs and I've ordered from them before. http://www.karaokewh.com/index.cfm?RefID=439 Do you have a stereo set up or speakers and a tv to hook it into, or would you want an all-in-one machine?
There is also The Singing Machine, which is a brand that is carried in various department or electronic entertainment stores and not too expensive, from what I recall. http://www.singingmachine.com/produc...oup&group_id=9
The public library does karaoke, and they have an interesting machine. I think it's just a microphone and you put little cartridges into it, but I forget what it is called. For a 3 and 5 year old, you could probably just get a Fisher-Price type of cassette player that has a microphone. My kids had one and really enjoyed just carrying it around and making noise in the mic.

Thanks for the links. I'm looking for an all-in-one machine. I've seen the Singing Machine a bunch of places, that seems to be a popular one.

I think that is usually the cheapest one, and the one most often found in stores. There are other all-in-one machines out there, but they can be really pricey. http://www.acekaraoke.com/all-in-one-systems.html
You could also get a karaoke set-up for you computer. There are some online karaoke sites that you might want to try with your kids. http://thesimsonstage.ea.com/index.html
