What kind of vit. are you taking (if you are taking one at all)....I have been taking New Chapter Organics Perfect Prenatal but I just looked on the bottle and it has soy in it!!

I looked up Rainbow lite's prenatals also and the whole foods one (which is what I want) has Rutin in it! Which is on my list of things to avoid from my m/w!!

So I have no idea what to do now!! :

So what are you taking and what is your take on the whole soy thing?

I just started taking one from gnc that I had leftover from my last pregnancy because it has no iron in it. My iron runs really high so I don't like to take any extra. I'm almost out though so I'll be looking to get some new ones. Why no soy /rutin?

I take a folic acid supplement and 2 Flintstone children vitamins. :

I'm still taking the regular vitamins I took before pg, except I stopped the Vitex. It has 800 mg folic acid already, so I will probably finish the jar and then start the prenatals. I took the 6-a-day Rainbow Light in my last pg, plus fish oil, extra B6 and RRL/nettle infusion.

I am not exactly clear on the soy but I know rutin in certain doses can be used to prevent pregnancy....I am sure (would hope!)that rainbow lite uses only a low dose.

hmm, i could not find rutin in the rainbow light ingredient list. i also did not read anything bad about rutin, but that was just a quick google, nothing in depth.

i took rainbow lights w my last pregnancy, too.

I have no problem whatsoever with soy, in moderation. The healthiest longest-living people on earth consume soy daily...just not in ultra-refined forms. I stick mostly to traditional japanese forms of soy: edamame, miso, tempeh, tofu, soy sauce--the fermented, cultured, or brewed forms...not the protein isolates and texturized american cardboard stuff.
And I do enjoy soy yogurt : .
I only use the "fake" stuff on special occasions. And I especially do not serve a lot of it to my young boys.
We use soymilk ONLY for baking special treats. For drinking and other things we use rice milk, almond milk, & hemp milk.

There's certainly nothing wrong with avoiding soy, but IMO I don't feel it does any harm in the right forms and in limited quantities.

I'm not even going to bother switching to a "prenatal" vitamin this time. I'm just going to stick with my VegLife multivitamin, or take 2 cherry Animal Parade chewables if morning sickness hits.
I also take Deva vegan DHA, AllFlora probiotic, and because I'm pregnant: extra B6, dandelion root & milk thistle, and More Milk Two.

im on new chapter perfect prenatal - I love that I can take it on an empty stomache.

I love New Chapter's perfect prenatal, and I started taking it when I was ttc. They culture the soy they use, so I think that culturing makes it better. I used to work for Whole Foods as a buyer in the Whole Body department, so I got to meet many vit. reps. I have always had the highest regard for New Chapter's products and for the company as a whole. I also try to eat unrefined soy products, with a few exceptions here and there.

I am on Nature's Plus Prenatal - it's made from all whole foods and doesn't have that yucky vitamin smell - it actually smells kind of fruity. Just started it yesterday, so hopefully it works well for me.

I'm sticking with the generic daily vitamins we have. It only has 400mg of folic acid, but I've also made sure to include foods high in folic acid every day as well.

I'm not a big fan of vitamins, but willing to take a little extra for now. But, I know that I also eat pretty well too and getting pregnant is just a bigger motivation to do so.

Today is a marathon cooking session to make up a lot of stuff to stock the fridge and freezer with eat to heat and eat serving of various things I need, and really want right now. I think I brought home half of the store's available produce.

i like the All-One Fruit Anti-Oxidant vitamin powder. I like to mix it in a smoothie. Yum. I never have a problem with them causing nausea either. My doctor recommended them to me due to my extreme nausea and puking last pregnancy.
