Need help w/ProCare

I am reposting something I had in an older thread, in case it's a better idea to make a new one out of it...

Hi everyone,
I just got some ProCare and wanted to make a diaper pail liner. Could anyone tell me how to close the seams? I read heat sealing makes it wickproof. How is that done?

Or is sewing enough? I had made a PUL diaper pail liner and it was wicking. No big deal but annoying. My wetbag is also PUL but doesn't really have time to wick, but the diaper pail has the wet dipes sitting there for a while. Planning to make a wetbag out of the ProCare later though.

Any help would be appreciated!

I've never worked with ProCare--because I will never order from that company again. (I can't say anything more about it in public without violating UA, but feel free to PM me.) BUT, I have heard that it is much like PUL except thicker and stiffer. I have never heard of heat-sealing it, but I'd imagine you'd do that the same way you heat-seal PUL after sewing--by washing in hot water and drying on high in the dryer.

What kind of PUL did you use for the first pail liner? If it was a cotton woven print, it's going to wick no matter what. But if it's a poly knit, you could try re-inforcing your seams with a strip of PUL ironed laminated-sides-together over your seam (use a hot iron and a press cloth). Or line the bag in fleece, that will help slow the moisture and disburse it so it isn't forced through the PUL by pressure.
