best kind of felt for an advent calendar and toys???

I would like to have it for many years - would wool blend be all right, or would pure wool hold up better?
Also, I've made a number of felt toys for my babies and I started out with the acrylic felt since it was cheap and I wanted to see how I enjoyed working with felt - how long does regular felt hold up in toy form?

Bottom line is that 100% wool is always better. However, if your budget doesn't allow for 100%, I think a good wool blend (70-80%) will hold up quite nicely as well!
