I am in desperate need for ababy sitter in 2 hours. I have been trying to find someone for a week and I am just out of luck.
Is there any stone I have forgotten to look under?
I called 2 nursery schools in my area as per a suggestion from my nieghbor who almost could do it but she has to pick up her grandson at that time and it is an hour away.
I called my 2 babysitters but they are busy with school stuff.
I asked my son's Y teacher but the rules wont them let them babysit.
My family is in Florida and my MIL wont b/c my apartment isn't up to her level of clean. (laundry not put away and toys everywhere. )
I can't think of any other options.
Is there babysitting website with trusted people?
any ideas and FAST would be appreciated.

Is there a gym in your area that has a babysitting area? I have never used it, but one time, my husband had to have physical therapy and at the center there was a gym and a babysitting room. You could use the babysitting room but you had to pay for it if you weren't a member of the gym.

ETA: Oh another thought - our Gymboree has drop off classes and babysitting.

Can MIL look after the kid(s) at her house? Or take them to the zoo or something?

Thank you both...I ended up bringing them to DH's job and I left for a work 20 min late. So they spent 40 minutes at his job with him and I was 20 min late which is ok.

Now that you aren't in crisis, you might want to look for a good drop in center in you area. We have a drop in NAEYC accredited center. It's a pretty good place! Bach. degreed teachers, relatively low ratios, etc. I don't think I would choose them as our permenant center because (a) their food is crap and (b) they don't go outside when it is below freezing, which is all winter in Michigan. But for an emergency, I would head there!

Some other options that you might want to check out now for next time:

* Indoor play centers with "drop off" policies.
* Babysitting services -- these charge a forture and you generally need to give them closer to 24 hrs. notice, but good to have in your back pocket.
* Local churches with nursery care often have great people to recommend.
