Rainy day activities

We have a hall closet at our house with tupperware containers filled with activities for my 3 yr old on rainy/boring days. I thought that I would share about what I have and maybe gets some ideas from other mommas for new one for this coming fall. We all know we will be stuck inside with bored children pretty soon here

Here's what we have:
Watercolors
Dot Paints (I love these, almost no mess)
Alhabet Bingo
Mr. Potatoe head
Puzzles
Wooden beads with string
Playdough
A Go Fish game
Musical instruments
Candy land

And I just recently purchased some window markers, some face painting crayons, and a memory game.

So, does anyone else do this? If so, what have you got?

Hi Sarah!

No we have it too! My guys are 8 & 6 and they still love to get into the closet and rediscover what is in there. Currently we have playdough and things to go with it, art supplies (crayons, markers, colored pencils, paints, watercolors and loads of paper), puzzles, Uno, and some true & false flash cards my Mom found.

Right now they are working together with the play dough and are so cooperative!!!!

We have a kitchen drawer with art supplies - paint, watercolors, crayons, markers, pencils, glue, lots of different sizes and colors of paper, pencil sharpener, scissors (!), stickers, ribbon, and anything else crafty that I run across - and that keeps DD busy. I also keep playdoh and games on the bottom shelf of our pantry. DD doesn't go in there much so when we pull things out it is like they are new again.

Its a great idea. We have some of those things, but not organized together. On rainy days we like to bake/cook together, dance with playsilks, make seasonal decorations, make collage letters to grandma, take a bath and read in bed.

I have pipe clearner and beads (it's easier for them to string)
the sewing cards with shoelaces
poster paints
crayons
felt
glue/glitter glue
window markers

They have a kitchen cupboard of their own that they can get into. I throw anything in there (old spice cans, cardboard tubes, old oatmeal cylinders)

They have ice cube trays( I fill with water) I give droppers and foodcolor to make different colors with use the dropper.

The love to drag out all the sleepbags and make tents.

the other day we made bird feeders the pinecone/peanutbutter/birdseed kind.

With dowels we made felt flags for a procession at church. They loved it!
