What would you NOT name your child? - Page 5

Ooh, this is EVER so much fun. My sister's doctor's name is Dr. Doktor. Also the same sister went to school with a set of twins named Justin Case and Amanda-Lynn Case. I shit you not. Their parents felt it to be a blessing to have that last name that went with so many different words!

the names my ex, meghs bio father, would love i would gag at...he loved the name laneenay (spelling wrong i'm sure) which i believe is hawaiian. and finally we decided right before choosing meghan, that we'd call megh 'janae'. very pretty but just a little too much not 'me'. it wasn't resonating enough so at last minute i threw meghan (the name that is!!!) at him and he was ok w/ it...which was weird for him. for me it was even more sacred as my grandma's name is margaret and that means the same thing...only in welsh. he always downed any name i came up with. i loved the name delaney...he said it sounded like a strippers name...like laneenay doesn't? or janae??? or...paris, his other dd? or...sherelle, his other dd in alaska? i can't remember now what the other girls' names he liked were but they were all really out there... exotic. funny how certain names resonate w/ certain people and not for others...

Oooh! I thought of some more!

My SIL teaches kindergarten in the Cleveland Public Schools, and some of her kids have had some unbelievable names.

She had a set of twins named Lemonjello and Orangejello. When the mom was in labor she looked up into her cupboard and saw the two boxes of jello there, and decided to name her kids after them.

She also had a little girl named Gohnorrea. Her mother saw the word written in her chart when she was in the hospital and she dedcided it was a beautiful name (she obviously had no idea what it meant).

My grandpa's middle name was J. Just "J".

His wife, my g'ma, was a Bertha - and I have to agree, it's not what I would consider an attractive name. She must have like it though, b/c she named her own daughter Wilma.

We secretly called my g'ma "Bertie Lou" (Bertha Louise).

My Grandmother is Bebe Bertha and my other Grandmother was Olliveine Opal. Imagine, the children of two oddly-named women finding each other any getting married. Not that it lasted, I guess having moms with odd names isn't enough to keep a marriage together.

They named me Lisa Marie King- Yes, they were Elvis Fans. They haven't admitted that they used their real last name to pay tribute to "The King." They said it's just because they liked the name. I don't believe them, though, I like my story better. Growing up, not many people noticed, and it's not an odd name at all, so I never got teased.

I think so far my favorite stupid name on this thread has got to be "Jesus Tarzan" WTF?????
