We are hoping to invest in a swing set/playground type thing for our kids...dh is getting a retroactive raise and a holiday bonus, and we are hoping to convince all the grandparents/aunts/etc. to pitch in with $ instead of them having a "plastic" Christmas like they usually do. So, we are hoping to be able to get something nice, that will last/grow with the kids, maybe something we can add onto later.

But we still need to be on the frugal end of things....honestly, I can't even give a budget right now, as it will depend on if/who/how much the relatives feel like giving. If it was just left up to us, prolly the max we could spend right now is in the $200-250 range. We still have to finish paying the midwife and getting prepared for the post-partum period! We should get a decent tax return this year (esp. with the baby!) but can't count on that yet.

I think I'd prefer something wooden, a basic, well-made type set that dh might be able to add onto later--he really wanted to do the set himself, and he's great at woodwork, but he's so overworked right now that he knows he just won't have the opportunity to do it anytime soon.

Any recommendations? Our kids are: ds (nearly six), dd (nearly 4), and ds2 (nearly 2), if that makes a difference.
