Yesterday I had my 39 week MW appoint and found out I'm 4 cm and my water bag is bulging. Still no labor. Has anyone had anything like this. With DS I was in labor for a few hours before I reached 4 cm. She stripped my membranes (I agreed) yesterday and I've lost my plug and have bloody show now. What's up?

Serina (welldone) in this DDC was 5cm and bulging for at least a week, I think, right?
I'm usually well into labor by then, too. But it sounds like it's soon for you! Good luck!

All of that happened to me last Friday.... almost a week ago. But then I have been in bed and jump in the tub or shower any time a contraction hits me hopes of stopping false labor again. I am waiting it out for the real thing you see. I have done a little shopping, choir practice, and tonight I have a meeting at church. Still, I sit at 4cm, stripped membrains, no plug, and no labor. Baby is moving lots though, flipped all over the place last night actually, so I am not worried. What will be, will be.

Not in your DDC, but I have BTDT! On April 24, 2003, I arrived at the hospital, thinking I was in early labor. They found I was 4cm and completely effaced. A few hours later, the "early labor" stopped and they sent me home. My darling little girl was finally born on MAY 26, 2003 -- over a month later. However, because I started the labor at 4cm, I was only in labor for about 2 hours and then pushed for an hour. So you might not have a very long labor.

Yeah, just be thankful that you might not have a long labor. But a friend of mine sat at 6 cm for weeks!!! Yep, 6 cm.
I believe someone in here was 5 cm and bulging for at least a few days. Can't remember who it was though.

Not in your DDC but I was 5cm for weeks with my last two babies. I didn't feel anything until I went into labor. My DD, who is now 19 months, was born after 4 1/2 hours of labor and my DS, who's 4 now, was born after 35 minutes of labor. I guess my body did a lot of prepping.

This is why I refused to be checked on Tuesday. DH was dying to know, but I figured it would just stress me out! If I'm at 4 or 5 or whatever, I'll be scared to not labor as long at home, and if I'm closed then I'll worry that I'll go very late or have a long labor.
Part of me is DYING to know, and the other part knows it'll make things worse to know since really it doesn't mean anything anyway.

I was like that for a week (maybe a little less?) before the girls were born. I had my membranes stripped and did a round of castor oil (I was facing medical induction), and they were born less than 24 hours later!
Hope it happens for you soon.
