Back from the MW, better place, some thoughts

Okay, well I am feeling a bit better right now. I love my MW, she has a way of helping me better always.

She checked me again today and I haven't changed. Almost completely effaced but barely dilated and babe is still stuck at a -2 station. She offered to strip my membranes, which I consented to, but she couldn't get a good enough reach because my cervix is pushed way back right now (had that with DS too). So I figure that is my sign that I am just going to have to wait this out fully And you know what? Right now I am okay with that.

But, I also got to thinking that maybe I am just one of those that brew my babies a bit longer. DD was born by medical induction 1.5 wks after my due date. DS was the exception, BUT I am starting to wonder if maybe it was an infection that caused my bag to rupture? Labor did NOT progress like it should naturally and I had to have a lot of Pit to get things going. He too stayed way up high until the last minute and then finally descended.

So, maybe he was supposed to stay in longer and just came early due to infection? This entire time I've been basing this babe off of DS and not DD, but maybe I need to reevaluate this all.

Just some random thoughts. Regardless, I am done with work tomorrow and have a ton of knitting projects lined up for next week to keep me busy

(((((Hugs))))) What a strong smart mama you are. Happy the MW helped you gain some balance again in all this.

Pictures of knitting to share by chance at some point? I really need to finish DS blanket already!

I am glad that you are feeling better! That's the sign of a good MW, when you come back feeling better and more relieved than when you went.

My son was a week early, but I am completely convinced that my labor started and water broke (with meconium in it) because things were not going well and he needed to get out. My water broke, labor stalled, pitocin administered, and in the end he was an emergency C-section because the cord was around his neck twice and he couldn't descend without constricting it. I think that his body and mine were trying to work in concert to get him safely out and that's why my labor was early and filled with so many mixed signals.

My doula says that she thinks each baby has his own birth story to tell and we don't figure it out until after the birth is over. So far it sounds like your baby's story is that s/he is warm and comfy and not quite ready to leave the womb.

Enjoy your maternity leave, however much of it you spend knitting before baby arrives!

I bet you're right! Not fun when you would like to see babe now, but you should stick around with us late Nov mamas and keep us busy with pics of your projects!
