I want to paint my nails.

BUT nail polish is toxic, there is no healthy kind. When breastfeeding I remember having to give up my nice nails as I would have to break the latch with my kids with my fingers. Nail polish in babies mouth can not be a good thing. I would do my toe nails but well... um..... they are out of reach right now. LOL

But I really want to paint my short little finger nails....

Aren't there some kinds you can get that are not toxic and such? I have no idea what they are. AND that would mean you would have to go get them. So I am no help.

I hear ya about the feet. I tried to take my shoes off a bit ago and tipped over.

So paint them. I painted my nails the week I had Thomas. I need to either remove it or redo it now, but it made me happy, which I desperately needed at the end of this pregnancy.

A second thought....my nails are painted and have been this whole pregnancy. I did give up biting them though, so I am no longer directly ingesting it....

I never paint my finger nails, but I do try to keep my toenails painted. I won't let my newborn suck on my toes

Now, how do I get one last pedicure w/o any money & not being able to reach my toes???

I just painted my toenails... but I don't plan on sticking my toes in baby's mouth.

The spa that I OCCASIONALLY treat myself to a mani/pedi at just switched to natural nail polishes. It's an Aveda spa, and I have no idea what brand the polish is, but I do know that there is some out there.

You can always just paint them now and enjoy a little toxicity before the baby comes, then remove it.

Dang, I can't remember for the life of me the brand name but there is one that is sold at Whole Foods that doesn't have formaldhyde or the other toxic things in it. The name is on the tip of my tongue too!

Yes, I am painting my nails tonight, trimmed em down this morning because they keep breaking. I usually only paint my toes (or have someone assist me at this point ) but for some reason I woke up thinking about this too...

It is just amazing to me that a company can put anything in cosmetics with no testing, known toxins, and the stores sell it to us and we asume it is safe. There is no FDA health standard for the stuff we put on our skin and thus into our bodies. -shivers- If a cosmetic hurts people the company can CHOOSE to take it off the shelf, no one will make them though..... sickening.

I sell safe cosmetics but the company does not make nail polish as they can not find a safe way to do it. -sigh- yet I still want color dang it. LOL

Thank you for the links!

Okay the stuff I am talking about is called No Miss. Here is what their site says. So while they did take out a lot of the icky stuff, still full of lovely chemicals

But I'll take it over traditional any day (plus it's vegan)

Yesterday I told DH he had to paint my toes or I wouldn't cook dinner ever again

In the pictures immediately after delivering DS people commented on how nice my nails looked, they just had a little oil rubbed on them!

I've been using the Honeybee Gardens polish throughout pregnancy. It's awesome stuff! The biggest problem is that it's hard to take off - weird, I know. I need to get DH to paint my toenails tomorrow. Then the baby will come out!
