How to prepare comfrey tea for post-partum compresses...

x-posted in B&B...

I'm getting ready to make some compresses for post-partum (with comfrey tea and witch hazel), but I can't seem to remember what the tea and water ratio is, and if I need to steep it for hours and hours (which would make sense to me). Any input?

I put a heavy handful into a regular coffee mug and poured hot water over it...then I put a saucer on top and left it there until I had time to make the pads (about 30 minutes). Hope that helps!

Thanks!

I asked my mw yesterday, and she said to boil a pot of water, then add one cup of comfrey to it and to let it steep for a while. She said it only needed to steep for 20 or 30 minutes, but I'll probably let it get nice and strong for a couple of hours.

I forgot that I'll also be using this in a peri bottle for a few weeks, to rinse with after using the bathroom. Just thought I'd throw that in, in case anyone was interested.
